Lower control arm static analysis with ANSA and Abaqus
This tutorial walks through a complete linear static analysis of the front lower control arm of an off-road

We use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to accurately predict the structural behavior of components and systems. Examples of quantities calculated in this type of analysis include stresses, strains, displacements, and other relevant structural responses, depending on the application. We perform different types of analyses—such as linear and nonlinear static, implicit and explicit dynamic, modal, and thermo-structural analyses, among others—to support safe and efficient engineering decisions.

Fatigue Analysis is used to predict the service life of components subjected to cyclic loading, estimating the number of cycles or operating time until crack initiation. This approach reduces the need for costly and time-consuming experimental testing, accelerating development and increasing product reliability. We perform different types of fatigue analyses—such as multiaxial fatigue under complex loading conditions, fatigue assessment of welded joints (spot and seam welds), and spectral fatigue based on frequency-domain data and power spectral density (PSD), among others.

Thermal Analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to evaluate the behavior of components and systems under different thermal and temperature conditions. It enables the simulation of heat transfer through conduction, convection, and radiation, supporting the assessment of temperature distributions and thermal effects. This type of analysis is essential for components exposed to temperature variations and for the design and validation of thermal systems.

Impact Analysis simulates high-energy events that generate large stresses and deformations over very short time periods. This type of analysis is essential to evaluate structural behavior during collisions, drops, and severe impacts, ensuring safety, structural integrity, and performance under extreme conditions. We perform analyses such as crashworthiness and occupant protection, ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) for rollover safety, and impact protection for industrial vehicles, including the structural assessment of bollards used in warehouses and retail facilities.
